Running long in Bangkok
Building the long run
Long runs work best on continuous, uninterrupted terrain. Urban roads, park paths, and mixed city surfaces. Plan water stops in advance — most of these routes pass drinking fountains or shops, but not reliably in the outer sections.
Marathon and half-marathon blocks
Progress the long run by no more than 10–15% per week, and keep one route constant so you can compare weeks honestly. Repeating a loop twice is usually easier to fuel than a single point-to-point.
Safety on longer efforts
Check traffic flow, sidewalks, and route lighting before your run.
